Interior and exterior painting
House painters for Charlestown homes and businesses
Procover Painting paints houses, units, townhouses and shopfronts in Charlestown. Typical jobs include full exterior repaints, interior refreshes before a sale or new tenants, and eaves, fascias and trims that have faded or started to peel.
Paint only lasts as long as the prep underneath it. So we wash down, scrape back loose paint, fill cracks and prime bare areas before any topcoat goes on. You get a fixed, itemised quote first, so you know the cost before we start.
- Fixed, itemised quote after a site visit
- Furniture, floors and gardens covered before work starts
- Site cleaned at the end of every day

What we see here
Every Charlestown home needs a different approach
Charlestown grew in stages, so the houses on one street can be 50 years apart. The right prep depends on when your home was built.
Post-war and 1950s–60s homes
These often have older layers of paint on timber, eaves and window frames. NSW Government advice says most Australian homes built before 1970 contain lead paint. We test old paint before any sanding and use low-dust methods where it's needed.
1970s–90s brick veneer
Face brick usually stays as it is. The work is in the eaves, fascias, gutters, timber trims and garage doors, which fade and peel first. Refreshing just these can lift the whole house.
Newer units and townhouses
Buildings from the 2000s onwards near Charlestown Square often have render and painted cladding. We fill hairline cracks, seal and recoat in the colours you've chosen.
Sloping blocks
Lots of Charlestown streets sit on a slope, with split-level homes and high back walls. We plan safe access with the right ladders or scaffold, so high walls get the same finish as the rest of the house.

How much does house painting cost in Charlestown?
It depends on the size of the house, which surfaces you want painted, their condition and how easy they are to reach. Sloping blocks and high walls can add to access costs. We visit, measure up and give you a fixed written quote at no cost.
My house was built before 1970. Is the old paint safe to sand?
It may not be. NSW Government advice is that most Australian homes built before 1970 contain lead paint, and sanding it can create harmful dust. We test older paint before any sanding. If lead is found, we use low-dust methods and careful clean-up. Paint that’s still in good condition can often be cleaned and painted over without sanding back.
What prep do you do before painting?
Prep depends on the surface, but it usually means washing down, scraping back loose paint, filling cracks and holes, sanding where it’s safe to, and priming bare areas. Good prep is what makes the finish last.
Can you paint my shop or clinic without closing it?
In most cases, yes. We plan the work in stages, or for early starts and quieter days, so you can keep trading.
Is Procover Painting licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold NSW contractor licence 392662C and full public liability insurance. We’re happy to send copies before the job.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. Our workmanship is covered by a 5-year warranty. If paint peels or flakes because of our work, we’ll repair it.
