Quick answer: Dulux or Taubmans?
Both are worth shortlisting. Choose the exact product, finish and coating system for your surface, then compare current prices. Neither brand is universally better for durability, coastal exposure or a child’s room. Preparation, correct application and ongoing care affect the result.
Is Taubmans a good paint?
Taubmans Endure and All Weather are interior and exterior ranges with manufacturer-described cleaning and protection features. Dulux offers comparable choices for those jobs. A useful comparison names the actual product and sheen, rather than ranking an entire brand.
What to consider before choosing
- Surface and condition: Check what you are coating, the existing paint’s adhesion and any repairs or moisture problems.
- Finish and cleaning: Choose a sheen suited to the room, light and cleaning needs.
- Complete system: Include compatible primers and the specified coats.
- Colour: Approve a sample in the actual product and sheen. Matching a colour name across brands does not guarantee an identical appearance.
- Value: Compare required quantity, preparation and labour alongside tin prices.
Interior paint: Taubmans Endure vs Dulux Wash&Wear
Both manufacturers describe washable interior finishes for busy households. Dulux highlights 101 Barrier Technology; Taubmans highlights Nanoguard Advanced Technology. Those descriptions do not establish which product wins a direct scratch or scrub test.
Wash&Wear: A practical shortlist option for hallways and family-room walls. Check the standard Low Sheen product versus specialist variants before buying. Endure: Worth considering where washability and stain resistance matter. Its Low Sheen sheet also identifies Sensitive Choice approval, with qualified wording that approved products may help people with asthma and allergies.
VOC figures need context. The linked Dulux Low Sheen PDS v4.0 lists less than 5 g/L, including Dulux low-VOC tinters. The linked Endure Low Sheen PDS lists less than 5 g/L and excludes HiChroma bases from its low-VOC claim; the general Endure webpage shows 15 g/L. It also shows coverage up to 12 m²/L, while the Low Sheen sheet lists up to 16 m²/L. Confirm the current specification for your finish and base with Taubmans when planning quantities.
A VOC content figure alone does not establish that one paint is safer for a nursery or every person. Provide ventilation and follow the exact product’s safety and curing instructions. This guide does not use those figures to recommend a health-related brand winner.

Exterior paint: Taubmans All Weather vs Dulux Weathershield
Dulux describes MaxiFlex flexibility and sun protection. Taubmans describes Nanoguard technology, UV resistance and mould resistance. These features do not prove one product lasts longer on every coastal or timber home.
The warranty comparison has changed: Weathershield’s residential guarantee concerns peeling, flaking and blistering for as long as you live in the painted home, subject to its terms. All Weather advertises a conditional lifetime guarantee for those defects. Neither is a guaranteed repaint interval or a promise of no maintenance.

Spreading rates are per coat, not the finished area covered by the tin. Porous or textured surfaces and application losses can increase consumption. Cooler or humid conditions can extend drying.
Specification discrepancy: The All Weather webpage shows 35 g/L VOC; its linked Low Sheen PDS lists 37 g/L. These are different published figures, not evidence of a health advantage. Check the current label and confirm the specification for the exact finish and base with Taubmans.

Taubmans costs less in this retail snapshot, but the saving varies by product and pack size. A percentage saving on paint does not translate into the same percentage saving on a whole-house repaint. Compare the required quantity, primers, repairs, access and labour in a complete repainting quote.
Which paint suits your home?
- Busy interior walls: Shortlist both Wash&Wear and Endure. Compare sheen, cleaning requirements, colour samples and the specified system.
- Nurseries and bedrooms: Avoid choosing from a VOC number alone. Check the exact product’s safety information, ventilation and curing instructions.
- Timber weatherboards: Inspect failing paint, greyed timber, moisture damage and joints. Both exterior ranges need sound preparation; flexibility is not a repair for rotten timber or a loose existing coating.
- Coastal homes: Remove salt contamination and identify the substrate. Corroding metal needs a suitable corrosion-treatment and primer system. Mould resistance does not replace fixing moisture or drainage problems.
- Render and masonry: Check curing, powdery surfaces, cracks and moisture. The All Weather PDS specifies 28 days’ curing for new masonry and render.
- Full sun: Check cladding colour restrictions and plan application for suitable surface temperatures and the product’s weather limits.

- Check the existing coating’s adhesion and resolve leaks or damaged materials.
- Clean, remove loose paint, repair and sand as required; remove dust before coating.
- Specify compatible primers for bare surfaces, repairs, stains and metal.
- Apply the required coats at the specified spreading rate and allow suitable drying conditions.
- Allow curing before washing and retain product, sheen and colour details for maintenance.

Which is cheaper?
Taubmans is cheaper for the white Low Sheen packs in the dated table above. That does not establish a permanent brand-wide price rule or the cheapest complete project.
Does Endure have a 15-year warranty?
The current Endure webpage and linked Low Sheen PDS advertise a conditional lifetime guarantee. Check the terms for the product you buy; a guarantee is not a predicted lifespan.
Does Weathershield only have a 15-year guarantee?
No. Its current residential terms cover qualifying peeling, flaking and blistering for as long as you live in the painted home, subject to conditions and exclusions.
Which is best for a coastal home?
Choose from the substrate, exposure and preparation requirements. Neither range can compensate for salt contamination, corrosion or a failing coating underneath.
Can I use both brands in the same house?
You can select separate systems for different rooms or surfaces. Mixing products within one coating system requires compatibility checks; it can also affect guarantee eligibility.
